You may not realise it – but Powershell doesn’t automatically update… I suppose to avoid breaking any existing scripts that may exist on your machine(s). There are a bunch of handy features in 3.0 that don’t come in other versions however – you can find the latest installer here. Just run the MSU and reboot; Simples!

Just right click the VM and go to Guest -> Install/Upgrade VMware Tools then enter these commands in the shell: yum -y install perl mkdir /mnt/cdrom mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom cp /mnt/cdrom/VMwareTools-*.tar.gz /tmp umount /mnt/cdrom tar -zxf /tmp/VMwareTools-*.tar.gz -C /tmp cd / ./tmp/vmware-tools-distrib/vmware-install.pl –default rm -f /tmp/VMwareTools-*.tar.gz rm -rf /tmp/vmware-tools-distrib Job done! Simply navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Services \LanmanServer \Parameters Then create a REG_DWORD called DiskSpaceThreshold and set to the desired percentage (remember to use decimal rather than hex) – e.g. 10 for 10%, which happens to be the default.
